人に伝えることを目的とする文章なので、敬体で書く方がよい【８】。
第一段落は説明。
私が、美しいと思う日本語は、「いただきます」と「ごちそうさま」という言葉です。
第二段落は、詳しい説明。
「いただきます」は、食事の前にする挨拶のような言葉ですが、こういう挨拶は日本以外の国にはないと聞いたことがあります。【１】「ごちそうさま」は、同じく食事が終わったときにする挨拶ですが、これも習慣になっていて、誰も深い意味など考えずに使っています。それぐらい、日本の文化の中に定着している言葉です。
第三段落は、理由。
私が、この二つの言葉が美しいと思う理由は【２】、この言葉の中に、食事を作ってくれた人に対する感謝の気持ちがあるととともに、食事の材料やその材料を生み出した自然に対する感謝の気持ちがあると思うからです。【３】
私たちは、社会の中で【４】助け合って生きています。しかし、日々の生活の中では他人と競争するようなことも数多くあります。
そういう自分の利益だけを考えがちな生活から【５】、感謝の気持ちに戻してくれるのが、この食事のときの挨拶の言葉ではないかと思います。
第四段落は、まとめ。
言葉は、その国の文化を反映しています。【６】
日本の言葉は、日本の長い歴史の中で生まれてきた言葉ですから、ただ意味を伝えるだけでなく【７】、私たちの生きる姿勢も伝えていると思います。
これからも、こういう美しい言葉を大切にし、それを外国の人にも伝えていきたいと思います。
