国語の勉強というと、誰でも問題集を解くような勉強を連想します。しかし、国語の問題をいくら問いても国語の力はつきません。 なぜかというと、問題集を解いてできた問題は、もともと何もしなくてもできた問題ですし、できなかった問題は、読み取る力がなくてできなかった問題ですから、次回もできないからです。 問題の詳しい解説を見ても、解説が理解できた気がするだけで、実際には問題を解く力はつきません。国語の力は、文章を読む練習をする中でついてきます。 言葉の森の勉強は、感想文を書くために長文を深く読み取る練習をします。そのため、書く力をつけることがそのまま読む力をつけることにつながり国語力がついてくるのです。 計算がいくらできても、文章題を解く国語力がなければ算数の力は伸びない
算数の計算は、計算の仕方というルールを知らなければできません。だから、できる子とできない子の差が大きいように見えますが、それは単に知識の差ですから学年が上がればその差は自然になくなります。 算数の計算が速いことは、算数の勉強を進める上に有利です。しかし、それは毎日の短時間の練習で身につきますから、長時間かけて何枚ものプリントをこなす勉強をする必要はありません。 算数で差がつくのは、文章題を考える問題、図形を考える問題です。この考える力は、読書や対話や手足を使う生活の中で身につきますが、最も大事なのが難しい文章を読む練習をすることです。 中学、高校と、学年が上がるにつれて算数数学の力が伸びる生徒は、文章を理解する力や考える力がある生徒なのです。 英語の先取りをした子よりも、国語力をつけた子の方が英語の力は伸びる
日本人にとって日本語とは、単に国数英理社のひとつの教科としての国語ではなく、考える力や感じる力のもとになっている最も大事な学力です。 英語力をつけるために幼児期や低学年から英語の勉強をした子は、国語力が不足していることが多いため、学年が上がると、英語も国語も苦手になることがあります。 低学年のうちの勉強は、国語が中心で、英語は小学４年生ぐらいから始めていくのがいいのです。また、国語の勉強の中心は、読書と対話という国語的な生活です。 これからの国際社会に求められる学力は、語学力ではなく、自国の言葉で考える力です。国語力のある生徒ほど、英語の力も伸びていくのです。 Tweet  郵送無料の
